INTRODUCTION TO GENDER AND DEVVELOPMENT CONCEPTS

The Environmental Management Bureau IX, through its Gender and Development (GAD) focal point system, conducted a lecture-orientation on Introduction to Gender and Development Concepts among the EMB IX newly appointed and newly hired personnel. The said activity was conducted on May 20, 2021 via Microsoft teams platform in compliance to the local government unit’s health protocols and to ensure the participants’ safety in this time of pandemic. The event was participated by twenty-nine (29) participants, consisting of twenty (20) females and nine (9) males, from the EMB provincial offices namely; Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Isabela City and Zamboanga City.

 

EMB IX CONDUCTED AN ONLINE LEVELLING OFF SESSION ON HARMONIZED GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT WEBINAR

On October 13, 2021, the EMB IX with its GAD Focal Point System, conducted the 3rd session on Gender and Development Online Levelling Series. The activity participated by eighty-one (81) employees composed of 42 females and 39 males from the Regional office to the Provincial and Community Environmental Management Units (PEMU and CEMU) in Zamboanga Peninsula. The 3rd session mainly focused on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), Features of HGDG, Elements of the design checklists, sample casework and interpretation of ratings and Project Implementation and Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation (PIMME) elements, sample casework and attribution process.

 

EMB IX CONDUCTED AN ONLINE LEVELLING OFF SESSION ON GENDER ANALYSIS AND GENDER ANALYSIS TOOLS

The Online Levelling Session on Gender and Development continued with the second session which was conducted on July 15, 2021 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The activity was spearheaded by the EMB IX GAD focal point system and participated by forty-one (41) employees composed of 31 females and 13 males. In the chart below, it shows that there were more female attendees in the regional office and Zamboanga Sibugay Province (ZSP), while participants in PEMU Zamboanga del Sur (ZDS) and PEMU Zamboanga del Norte (ZDN) were mostly male than female. This is because PEMU ZDS and ZDN are male dominated provincial units while the regional office and PEMU ZSP are female dominated office.

 

EMB IX CONDUCTED AN ONLINE LEVELLING OFF SESSION ON GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT AND GENDER MAINSTREAMING

The Environmental Management Bureau IX, through its Gender and Development (GAD) focal point system, conducted a webinar dubbed as Online Levelling Session on Gender and Development and Gender Mainstreaming on June 17, 2021. The said webinar was participated mainly by EMB IX Division Chiefs, Sections Chiefs, Focal Persons and Unit Heads, and PEMU/ CEMU Chiefs. Other personnel and staff were also enjoined to participate.

 

EMB IX CONDUCTED A GENDER SENSITIVITY TRAINING ON MAY 17- 18, 2018 AT GRAND ASTORIA HOTEL, ZAMBOANGA CITY

The Environmental Management Bureau IX envisions a gender- responsive climate that would benefit the objectives of gender equality and equity both for its workforce and stakeholders. To maximize such endeavor, the EMB IX through its Gender and Development (GAD) focal point system conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training on May 17- 18, 2018 at Emerald Function Room, Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. The training aimed to harmonize GAD guidelines and mainstream GAD concerns in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all Environmental Programs, Projects and Activities.

 

EMB IX JOINED CONDUCTED A PASALAMAT PROGRAM CUM WOMAN EMPOWERMENT AT DIPOLOG CITY, ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE

The Environmental Management Bureau IX in partnership with Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office IX and PENRO Zamboanga del Norte, in celebration of the National Women’s Month and pursuant to Republic Act No. 9994 otherwise known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, conducted a Pasalamat Program Cum Women Empowerment on March 15, 2018 at the PENRO Zamboanga del Norte Conference Room, Sta Isabel Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

 

EMB IX JOINED CONDUCTED A PASALAMAT PROGRAM CUM WOMAN EMPOWERMENT AT IPIL, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY

The Environmental Management Bureau IX in partnership with Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office IX and PENRO Zamboanga Sibugay, in celebration of the National Women’s Month and pursuant to Republic Act No. 9994 otherwise known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, conducted a Pasalamat Program Cum Women Empowerment on March 13, 2018 at the Roderic’s Resort, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

 

EMB IX JOINED THE “DIA DE LAS MUJERES

The Environmental Management Bureau IX joined the Dia de Las Mujeres on March 8, 2018 in celebration of the National Women’s Month with the theme: “We Make Change Work for Women”.

 

EMB IX INITIATED A KICK OFF WELLNESS ACTIVITY ENTITLED “ZUMBA ARANGKADA”

The Environmental Management Bureau IX, in consistent with Proclamation No. 227 series of 1998 and Annual National Women’s Month Celebration, initiated a kick off wellness activity on March 2, 2018 at the EMB IX convocation area. The Zumba Arangkada lead by the EMB IX focal point system and technical working group seeks both to empower employees in promoting gender equality and improving health habits, as such in consonance to its local theme: “WAY FORWARD: Taking roles into actions”.

The Environmental Management Bureau IX, in celebration of the National Women’s Month with the theme: “We Make Change Work for Women” conducted a lecture series to EMB IX employees with their roles in Gender and Development on March 2, 2018 at the EMB IX convocation area.

 

EMB IX JOINS DIA DE LAS MUJERES 2017

On March 8, 2017, the Environmental Management Bureau IX’s personnel along with all the National Government Agencies’, the Local Government of Zamboanga’s and other instrumentalities of the Government gathered together at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga parking plaza with initiative that contributes in the Annual Celebration of the Dia De La Mujeres with the theme: “WE Make Change Work for Women”.
